       Message Header

The message header is always the first part of the communication i.e. “Hi John” is not permitted!

 

The header consists of four or five lines but sometimes a reply from the coordinator may include a sixth line.

IATA schedules seasons – there are two seasons: Summer and Winter. The season changes when the clocks change in Europe between daylight savings time and standard time.

•      Summer starts on the last Sunday in March through to the Saturday of the last weekend in October

•      Winter starts on the last Sunday in October through to the Saturday of the last weekend in March

 

NOTE: the season does not change when the calendar year changes.

 

Example of season dates:

•      W08 – 26OCT2008 to 28MAR2009

•      S09 – 29MAR2009 to 24OCT2009

•      W09 – 25OCT2009 to 27MAR2010

•      S10 – 28MAR2010 to 30OCT2010
